CLOSE TO MY HEART

Close to my heart but,
every time I hold my hands out,
I never feel you,
love is something,
that has to be expressed,
but remains unexpressed,
you were there with me,
from the very beginning,
of my life,
we are made for each other,
we have been through my success,
my failure,
my hatred,
my love,
yet it will be unfair,
if I wish that,
we live together for a lifetime,
there are days where,
you showed love through gestures,
you showed love through words,
I am sorry if I cannot do that,
we have lived together almost always,
but I had to move on with my life,
that you prepared me for,
I am sorry if we can’t celebrate our birthdays together anymore,
I am sorry if we spend the days like we used to,
those were the golden times,
where we didn’t need words to express our love to each other,
just a glance and my name from your mouth,
showed how much you loved and cared for me,
this is not between me and one person,
this love is between me and my family,
who taught me that,
love is more than lust or infatuation,
it is the connection between two people’s mind,
heart,
I love them more than any guy who will come into my life,
but I can never say that,
I can love them more than they love me,
they are close to my heart,
but when I hold out my arms,
I can’t feel your warmth,
guess no one can measure the distance,
from earth to heaven.

Are you mine forever?

What was it, That made me believe you were mine? Was at the time you held me? Was it the time you kissed me? Was it when you scolded me? I want to know the answer, I want to ask you a question, We may fight like there is no tomorrow, We may love like there is no tomorrow, And I would defenitily say,  who knows if there is a tomorrow? A never ending green meadow, A beautiful little house,  And everything you ever wanted, I want to gift them to you,  My eternal love, I can't part with you,  I break down as the thought enters me, Your voice, Your laughter, echos in my ears, your name rolls on my tongue, Cause I know,  Everytime I call you, You will hear me, So stay beside me, Stay with me, And answer the question, Not like my parents, But as the companion you always were, To me. ~SRUTHAKIRTI.M

The Dead and the War

In the end, The dead isn't counted, The lived ones are praised, Little do they know the pain,  Of the dead, The litres of blood, That was shed isn't counted, The lost honour of women, Cannot be restored, The dead fought for the leader, But did he fight for the dead? They say the dead watch over us,  Would they be ashamed of us now? Jealous of us? That we won't die unremembered, The war fought in the cold, The war fought in the heat, The war fought for women, The war fought for wealth, All have the same outcome, Death of the innocent. ~SRUTHAKIRTI M
